What is Keyboard
By
which we give input in computer and at the same time we write anything, that’s keyboard. The keyboard of a computer is almost similar to a typewriter with
a few differences. In computer a curson is always flashing on the monitor. When
a key is pressed on the keyboard the same character is displayed on the
monitor. The keyboard has all the alphabets and (0-9) numeric digits on upper
line with some control characters like, @ #, $, % written above the numeric
digits. On the right side of the keyboard is a numeric keypad with all numeric
digits and calculation symbols.

Functions Keys
|
These are twelve keys numbered from F1 to F12 on top most line
to perform special functions.

Alphabet Keys
|
These
keys are 26 in number and contain alphabets from A to Z in upper and lower
case.

Numerical Keys
|
These
are ten in number (0-9). These keys are present in second row from top of
keyboard and also on numeric keypad.
|
Logical Sign Keys
|
Such
keys on which logical signs are inscribed are <, >, ?, !, *, = etc.
|
Arithmetic and mathematical Keys
|
These
are operational keys from example -+, _, &, /, @ etc.
|
Cursor Movement Keys
|
There
are four keys used for cursor movement to right, left, up and down direction.

Escape Keys
|
It is
used to come back. This is an important key used to deactivate the wrongly
written command.

Enter Keys
|
This an
important key on the keyboard. It sends the data into the computer. It is
also used to move the cursor to the next line.

Numeric Keypad
|
This
keypad is located on right side of the keyboard. It contains numeric digits
from (0-9) and mathematical operators
+, -, *, /, = etc. It functions when numeric lock key (Means NUM LOCK) is ON.

Alt and Ctrl Keys
|
These
keys are used alongwith the combination of alphabetical keys. These keys have
different use in each software. Like :- ctrl+s=save, ctrl+v=paste,
alt+f4=shut down the current window.

Insert Key
|
This key
is used to insert a letter in a word. A missing alphabet can easily be
inserted in a misspelt word
|
Caps Lock Key
|
This key
is used to type letters in upper/lower case.

Space Bar
|
This key
creates space between words and this is the biggest key of the keyboard.
|
Delete Key
|
It is
used to delete written word.
|
Back Space Key
|
It is
used when a letter or word is needed to move backward.
|
Pause Key
|
It is
used to temporarily stop the activity on the screen.
|
Print key
|
This key
is used to print the information on screen and printer.
|
Page up key
|
This key
used to jumping from the last page to the first page. Or jumping from the
last word to first word.
|
Page down key
|
This key
used to jumping from the first page to the last page. Or jumping from the
first word to last word.
|
Shift keys
|
These
keys are used alongwith the combination of alphabetical keys. These keys have
different use in each software and as well as this key is used alongwith the
combination of alphabetical keys type letters in upper/lower case.
